Wherever they called home, with her gift of gab, Effie always made friends easily. She played many roles during her lifetime, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was active in her church, Girl Scouts, and for many years up until her death, she was an avid knitter and made scores of blankets for Linus She is survived by her loving husband, Howard, two daughters, Catherine (Scott) Croteau of New Hampshire and Barbara Kraska of Rocky Mount, Virginia. Four grandchildren Scott (Robin) Croteau and Christopher (Jennie) Croteau of New Hampshire, Elizabeth (Joshua) Ross of Wyoming and Joseph Kraska of Rocky Mount, Virginia and three Great-grandchildren.
