Mrs. Eva, as many lovingly called her, was a woman of faith who believed that the most important thing that a person can do in life is accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. She was a prayer warrior and lifted up each of her family members to the Lord every morning in prayer. Her mother departed this life when she was almost 8 years old and Eva believed that God honored her mother’s prayers for Him to protect and guide them through life. She was a Christian who led by example by reading and studying her Bible, sharing the Word with those she came in contact with. She always said to everyone she met “Have a blessed day”.
She was a devoted member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church where she was very involved with their activity hour program by teaching the nursery age children and when she was not able to help with this outreach ministry, she was always there to support in this ministry in body, spirit, and giving financially.
The family so much appreciates the support and help of the Carilion Hospice team: Karen, Susan, and Sabrina (Shawnee); her beloved caregiver, Becky McPherson; her pastor, Nadia Stropich; her precious church family; neighbors, and sweet cousins in the extended family. For all the food, cards, prayers, and calls, we thank you.
We will miss Grandma Eva so very much but rejoice in her victory over death and the joys that she is experiencing in her heavenly home!
A Celebration of Life will be conducted from Piedmont Presbyterian Church 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019 with Pastor Nadia Stropich and Rev. Dan Agee officiating. Her family will be receiving friends from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be private per Eva’s request.
In lieu of flowers, Eva requested that memorials be given to Piedmont Presbyterian Evangelical Church, P.O. Box 68, Callaway, Virginia 24067.
“His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” Matthew 25:21
