Evelyn Johnson

Evelyn Ferguson Johnson, age 100, passed quietly away Saturday morning, December 15, 2012 in Rocky Mount, VA. Born June 3, 1912 in Clay Co., MO, the daughter of the late Theophilus Raymond and Gernie (Myers)Ferguson. She married on October 25, 1930 in Roanoke City, VA to her childhood sweetheart, Russell Johnson, who predeceased her on April 12,1999, after 68 l/2 years of marriage. Raised in Roanoke City and County, they lived in several counties in the state of MD, with her latter years spent in Rocky Mount. Also preceded in death were three infant children, twin sons, Donald and Darnell, in 1933, and daughter Carolee, in 1934. Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn Burns of Rocky Mount, VA, grandson, Glenn Burns of Houston, TX, and other family and friends. Evelyn loved and gave to all, and will be dearly missed.
