Ezra Nathaniel Boone

Ezra Nathaniel Boone, age 82 of Franklin County and Florida, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2013. He was born in Franklin County, VA on December 9, 1930, the Son of Cline and Maggie Boone of Wirtz, VA. Mr. Boone was one of 14 children and was raised in Franklin County. He was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Arthur and 4 sisters, Ena Miller, Ruth Garber, Ruby Taylor, and Lydia Rutrough. Ezra retired as Master Chief E9 after 30 years of service to his Country in the US Navy. He was also was a member of the West Pensacola Lodge No 296 F. & A.M. where he was a 32nd degree Master Mason. Mr. Boone is survived by his children, Debbie Bowen (Ron), Ezra Boone Jr. (Mary), Gary Boone, Ronnie Boone, Torrey Boone (Susan), and Theresa Tuttle; grandchildren, Erica, Rachel, Jamie, Aaron, Tiffany, Sharona, and Jonathan Boone, and Holly Tuttle; step-grandchild, John Wagner; several great-grandchildren; 7 siblings, Dorothy Layman, Susie Bowman (Ezra Lee), Samuel Boone (Eva), Joel Boone (Phyllis), Riley Boone (Judith), Dora Austin (Marion), Roy Boone (JoAnn); numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner Bowman Funeral Home (Rt.220 Chapel) 10:00 am Wednesday, December 4, 2013 with Robert Montgomery and Del Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery. His family will be receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Conner Bowman Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 220 N., Rocky Mount.
