Ezra Vernard Dillon age 99 of Wirtz went to Heaven to be reunited with his loving wife Elsie of 63 years. He was a hard worker and a great provider for his family. He enjoyed going to the cattle market every Saturday. One of his favorite things was sitting on his porch chewing his tobacco and counting the cars passing by. He spent many years farming and working at Walker Foundry. He later retired from MW Windows. Vernard will be truly missed by all.
In addition to his wife Elsie, Vernard was also preceded in death by a son, William Dillon; grandchildren, Matt and Tina; son-in-law, Brady Mitchell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dotsie (Eck) Austin, Nannie (Russell) Board, Mary Dillon and Delmas Fisher; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom, Maylon (Ellen), Wilbur (Goldie) and Posey (Hilda) Dillon.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Bonnie Dillon Mitchell, Richard (Ethel) Dillon and Michael (Reba) Dillon; grandchildren, Lisa (Everett) Dillon, Timmy (Laurie) Mitchell, Rhonda (Todd) Crook, Jason (Kayla) Dillon and Brandon Dillon; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Josh), Bradley, Austin, Taylor, Lilly, Riley, Brook, Christine, Bailey and Emily; great-great-grandchild, Madison; sister, Stella Fisher; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the special caregivers who made him comfortable with their excellent care, Julianne Cook, Helen Wilcox and Megan Thurman.
Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Gills Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Naff officiating.
