Floyd W. Ordway

Floyd W. Ordway, Sr. 88, of Wirtz, Virginia went into eternal rest peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 22nd, 2018 with his beloved daughter, Lana Ordway, by his side. Carilion Clinic Hospice and Palliative Care helped care for Floyd and supported the family so he could remain at his home. Floyd was born in Brookfield, Vermont on July 24, 1929 and raised in Newport, New Hampshire. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He took pride in supporting his family working multiple jobs throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Martin and Edith Farnham Martin; loving wife of 67 years, Jane Emerson Ordway.; and his daughter, Lori Jane Ordway. He is survived by his sister and her husband, Beverly and George Derosier of Syracuse, NY; his son, Floyd "Skip" Ordway Jr.; his daughter, Lana Ordway all of Wirtz, VA; his sons and daughters in law, Bruce Ordway and his wife Barbara of Fredericksburg, VA; David Ordway and his wife, Heidi "his little mountain girl" , of Chesapeake, VA; Fred Ordway and his wife, Patricia "Patti" of Litchfield, NH; and Neil Ordway and his wife, Dana, of Wirtz, VA. 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Ordway home, 5941 Booker T. Washington Hwy, Wirtz, VA on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A private graveside memorial will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Old Liberty Cemetery.
