Frank James Fralin "Baldy", 95 of Rocky Mount, VA went to heaven to be reunited with his wife of 67 years, and he love of his life, Elsie (Elsie Reva Hodges Fralin) and his eldest son, James Wythe (Jimmy) Fralin. He is survived by his remaining heartbroken children; son, Frank Robert Fralin (Bob) and wife, Marlyn; daughter, Jo Ann Fuller (Jo); son John David Fralin (Dave); daughter and devoted caregiver, Linda Baynes; daughter, Deborah Jewell and husband, Bob; daughter, Reva Hall and Husband, (Frank's buddy) Kerry; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; many, many friends. Frank is also survived by his dog, loyal companion and best friend, Luther. "Baldy" (who had a full head of hair until he went to heaven) was a proud husband and father. He was a happy, kind, honest, generous, mostly mischievous soul who loved God, his wife, his family, his country and his friends. He lived his life as an example to his family. His wealth came not in material things but in his joy in his family. He had a positive outlook on life even when life didn't provide positive things for him. His greatest joy came from the ones who called him husband, "Daddy", "Pa", "Papa" and friend. He enjoyed family gatherings, baseball, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed traveling while serving his country and the many, many friends he met during that time. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed daily walks as long as his health allowed and visiting with his neighbors and friends. He proudly served his country during World War II, Company F, 318th Infantry 80th Division as a Staff Sergeant where he earned 2 Purple Hearts with Oak Leaf Cluster, 2 Bronze Stars and numerous other medals, ribbons and honors. His family will forever cherish him, our memories of him and he will always be loved and missed. If you had the privilege of knowing him, you were blessed. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Pagan and Rev. Gene Gillette officiating.
