Gail M. Groff Ungerer

Gail M. Groff Ungerer age 72 of Moneta departed her earthly home on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 for her heavenly home. Born May 13, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana she leaves behind her husband of 46 years Richard A. Ungerer, two daughters Lori U. Livingston, husband Patrick Livingston and grandson Aubrey W. Livingston; Sandra U. Bultema, husband David Bultema and grandsons Connor A. Bultema and Tyler D. Bultema. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Margaret Groff and sister Nicole Nancy Groff. Brother Richard Groff and wife Sharon Groff reside in Florida. Gail was a graduate of Greenbrier College with a merchandise degree and worked in merchandising prior to the birth of her daughters. She was a devoted wife who loved to travel with her husband and experience new places and people but was always happy to return to their home at Smith Mountain Lake. A loving mother to her daughters who always was concerned about their lives and families. Her three grandsons who called her GiGi were the joy of her life and she loved to be with them and enjoy their activities. Although her travels took her to China, Russia, Australia, South Pacific and Antarctica her favorite trip was a Disney Cruise with her family and grandsons. She enjoyed her organizations she belonged to and was an active member of PEO and enjoyed the sisters and activities. She enjoyed entertaining at their lake home and also was known for sending many cards for special occasions. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church 13586 Moneta Rd, Moneta, VA with the Rev. David Lord officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, January 4, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home.
