Garland Benjamin Anderson, 84 of Rocky Mount died Friday, June 20, 2014.
Mr. Anderson was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren. He retired with 36 years of service from Keebler and Kellogg Company in VA Beach and returned home to Franklin County where he worked for P.O. Sink and Billy Hubbard until he turned 80 years old.
He was born on November 22, 1929 a son of the late Harry and Georgie Fisher Anderson and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Anderson Ritnour; and two brothers, Clinton and Virgil Anderson.
Surviving are his loving wife, Myrtle Anderson; his daughters, Karen Bonney (Gerry), Warner Robins, GA, April Anderson, Rocky Mount; brother, Richard (Dickie) Anderson and wife Geneva; five grandchildren, Jay, Paul, Julie, Pam and Alicen; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 with Pastor Bruce Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
