Gary Spencer, Sr.

Gary Davis Spencer, Sr. age 62 of Wirtz passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at his home. Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who would do anything for anyone especially his family. He was a man of God with a very strong faith, easygoing and one that like to have fun especially with a joke or two to go along with his sense of humor. Gary was loved by all and will be missed by everyone that ever crossed his path. Gary was born on August 23, 1958 a son of the late Alvin Mitchell, Sr. and Rosemary Nadine Chilton Spencer and was also preceded in death by a brother, Danny Ray Spencer. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joyce Spencer; son, Gary Davis (LG) Spencer, Jr. (Rachel); daughter, Vicky Neiderhiser (Tyler); his grandchildren, Aidan and Liam Spencer, Abigail, Samuel, Levi, Isaac, and Joshua Neiderhiser; sisters, Jo Emerson, Flowermound, TX, Brenda Burks, Goodview and Alice Miller, Redwood; brothers, Al Spencer, Sr. (Betty Anne), Roanoke and Scott J. Spencer (Maryanne), Rocky Mount; mother-in-law, Eva Pauline Greene. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, August at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Parido officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
