Geraldine M. Altice

Geraldine M. Altice, age 85 of Glade Hill, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016. She was born January 20, 1931 to the late Will Chitwood and Hattie Belle Thurman Chitwood. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Russell Edward Altice. Geraldine had many hobbies in life including playing Rook, gardening, cooking, traveling and sometimes just hanging out by the lake. She enjoyed her lunch outings and socializing with her McDonalds friends but her true passion was her family. Geraldine lived for her daughter and grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter Sandra and her very special friend Benny Smith; two precious granddaughters who were the joy of her life Leslie and Matt Hall, Julie Law; great grandchildren Madison Belle Hall and Jaxson Lane Hall; sister Ruby Farrar of Vinton; brother and sister-in-law William and Eunice Chitwood of Denver, Colorado; her nephews, numerous cousins and friends; and a very special cat that she loved, “Lucky”. Funeral Services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (Rt. 220 Chapel) 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 with Rev. Denver Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
