Glenwood Clemons

Glenwood Clemons, 68, of Boones Mill, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was born on May 4, 1948 to the late Al and Verna Clemons. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Francis, Ruth Allen and Linda Doughton. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Teresa; his brothers, George, J.T., Harold, Warren, Delmas (Sallie), Chucky; sister, Hazel Ratcliffe (Billy); and numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish his memory are his extended family and church friends. Glen was a member of the Boones Mill Baptist Church and former employee of Northern Southern Railway. He loved hunting (especially bow hunting). Thank you to the skilled staff at Medi Home Health & Hospice and the Veterans Hospital Home Health Care staff for the great care and compassion provided over the last weeks, months and years. Special thanks to Wayne Clemons and John (Billy) & Hazel Ratcliffe, Andy Clemons, Brandon Pate, Dale Clemons, Janet Sue Conner, Dwight and Terry Hagy and David and Sheila Hagy for your assistance with Glen in numerous ways (from sitting with him or helping with something around the house). Box 230, Boones Mill, VA 24065, or to your favorite charity. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Steele officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Franklin Memorial Park.
