Gloria Day

Gloria Jean Weade Day (Ms. Glory), age 77, of Boones Mill, VA passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017. She was born August 25, 1939 in Buchanan, VA the daughter of the late Allie and Annis Weade. Mrs. Day retired from Gethsemane Nanny and was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Monte Weade and a grandson, Chris Wright. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Garney Day; children, David Wright (Julie), Mark Wright, Lisa W. Black (Norman), Beth Edwards (Terry), James Day, Jathan Day (LaShanda), Nia Davis (Bill); grandchildren, C.J. Wright, Kim Guckenburg, Stephanie Miller, Misty Dingman, Thomas Black, Joy Edwards, Devin Henley, Aaron Day, Caleb Henley, Celeste Edwards, Alex Day, Trey Henley, Carlee Davis, Sam Day; five great grandchildren and the sixth almost here; two sisters, Nancy Unroe and Virgie Rothwell; sister-in-law, Linda Weade. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Conner Bowman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, 1444 Bonbrook Mill Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
