Grover "Wimp" Jefferson

Grover (Wimp) Jefferson, age 75 of Wirtz, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018. He was born February 14, 1943 to the late Montie Jefferson and Doris Robertson Jefferson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Newby Jefferson; stepson Mike Ingram; brother Letcher Jefferson and sister Inis Towler. Mr. Jefferson served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from VDOT with 29 years of service and loved to ride his motorcycle and watch racing. Surviving is sons Timothy “Bubba” Jefferson (Sharon), Tonny Jefferson; stepdaughter Sharon Hughes (Alan) and their family; special friend Annie Wade; grandchildren Kaitlin and Garrett Shively and Taylor Jefferson; brothers and sister John “Poss” Jefferson, Linda Brumfield and Darrell Jefferson (Mary Lou Gibson). Graveside services will be held at Liberty Christian Church Cemetery 2:00 p.m. Saturday with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. His family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (Town Chapel) 140 Floyd Ave, Rocky Mount, VA.
