Harry Lewis (H.L.) Smith, age 73 of Glade Hill went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 15, 2015. He was born October 24, 1941, a son of the late Woodrow and Mable Cundiff Smith.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara Wray Smith; daughters, Cinda (Mike) Perdue, Kerry (Ryke) Rumbley; sons, Jeff (Penny) Smith, William (Brandi) Smith; his grandchildren who were the love of his life, Harrison Guilliams, Dylan and Riley Smith, Vicki and Eliza Smith.
Also surviving are sisters, Janet (Warren) Robertson, Linda (Marlen) Davis, Dianne (Jay Hugh) Hall, Barbara (Lewis) Conner; and a brother, Mike (Vickie) Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Claude and Sue Chitwood, Wayne and Sylvia Wray, Billy and Kathy Hudson, Bill and Diane Wray, David and Rhonda Heptinstall; two special aunts, many special nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
H.L. loved hunting, fishing and all card games. He was a dedicated and devoted member of the Redwood Hunt Club in Buckingham County, Virginia where the motto of the club was “What happens in Buckingham County stays in Buckingham County”.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Strong and his staff, Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital and Wal-Mart Pharmacy for their care and compassion during his illness.

Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
