Helen Ingram Smith

Helen Ingram Smith, age 82 of Glade Hill went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Ford Smith and her stepbrother Eugene Wright. Surviving to cherish Granny Helen’s memory are her four children Douglas (Dianne) Smith, Jeanette (Raymond) Peters, Benny Lee Smith (Sandra), Brenda (Gary) Solomon; fourteen brothers and sisters; eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their warmest gratitude to Sally Martin and her professional team for the love and care they provided to Granny Helen in her last years. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to Crafts United Methodist Church, PO Box 215, Penhook, VA 24137. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Lynch Conner-Bowman Home, 140 Floyd Ave, Rocky Mount.
