Henry Herbert Brubaker, 81, of Rocky Mount, passed away on November 25, 2015. He was born April 19, 1934 to the late Isaac and Mary Viola Brubaker. He was a quiet man that always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He could turn an ordinary piece of wood into a beautiful piece of furniture, turn a plot of land into a bounty of food and fix, make or mend anything.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Peggy Hall Brubaker; his daughter, Vickie Perdue and husband, Clyde, his son, Randy Brubaker and wife, Donna, and son, Robbie Brubaker and his wife, Kathy. He is survived by grandchildren, who believed him invincible; Josh Brubaker and his wife, Susan, Holland Perdue and his wife, Jordan, Zach Brubaker and his wife, Jessica, Peyton Perdue, Madeline Perdue, Delaney Perdue and Dylan Brubaker. He is survived by his great-grandchildren Clyde and Evelyn Blakely Perdue, Jayden, Trent, Logan and Avery Brubaker, and Clinton and Grant Stanley. He is survived by his loving sisters Ruth Graham, Lorine Slough, Ruby Wells, Betty Wagner, Marie Brubaker and Gracie Mullins. He was predeceased by his brothers Lewis and George and his sister Mary.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Antioch Church of the Brethren with Pastor Eric Anspaugh officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
