Ira F. B. Doom

Ira F.B. Doom passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Friendship Nursing Home in Roanoke, VA. He was born on May 3, 1938 in Wilmington, DE. Ira was predeceased by his father, Ira F. Doom, his mother, Marion Denver Stuart Bradford Doom, also two sisters, Patricia Doom and Nancy Stuart Doom. He is survived by two step-daughters, two nieces and his caregivers, John and Carol Crounse. Ira was employed by various state and local public transportation agencies. He founded the Bedford Ride program and retired as the operations manager. Ira enjoyed dancing at many local establishments around SML. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society Clinic at 18401 Virgil Goode Highway, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Funeral services will be conducted from Epworth United Methodist Church 2:00 PM Monday January 18, 2016 with Pastor Josh Munnikhuysen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday January 17, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Route 220 N Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
