Isabelle Hammock Hodges, age 89 of Rocky Mount, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Isabelle was born March 25, 1925 to the late Nathaniel Hammock and Lessie Hammock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Raymond Hodges; her brothers and sisters; a son Delano Hippie Hammock and a daughter Rosa Yopp. She retired from JP Stevens and was a longtime member of Doe Run Christian Church. Isabelle has also been recognized by the Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) as being the last known surviving child of Confederate Soldier in Virginia. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law Eddie and Sandy Hammock; grandchildren Pam and April; son-in-law Charles Yopp; numerous other family and friends. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Doe Run Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner Bowman Funeral Home (Rt. 220 Chapel) 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Michael Stump and Rev. Dan Agee officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Conner Bowman Funeral Home, Rt. 220 @ Wirtz Rd., 62 Virginia Market Place Dr., Rocky Mount, VA 24151
