J. P. Bowles

J. P. Bowles, Sr., 89, of Boones Mill, VA passed away Monday, January 21, 2019. He was born October 20, 1929 the son of the late Johnny Lewis Bowles and Annie Viola Walters Bowles. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Alan Dale Bowles; sister, Ethel Catherine Garinian; brother, John David Bowles. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Liz Bowles; five children, Patsy Carol Dudley, J. P. (Skip) Bowles, Jr. (Doris), Randy Bowles (Becky), Brian Bowles (Ruth), Bruce Bowles; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; sixteen step great grandchildren; four step great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday at Fairmont Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Walters and Pastor Jessica Allen Slusher officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
