Jack R. Turner

Jack R. Turner, age 74 of Rocky Mount passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010. He was born September 21, 1936 to the late Hazel and Viola F. Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Darla Ann Turner; brothers Bill, Paul and Bobby Turner; sister Edith Hoke. Jack was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. He was a simple man who lived a simple life and was always content with what he had. Jack loved UVA sports especially basketball & football but his true passion in life was his family and friends. Surviving are his wife Betty Turner; son Jack E. Turner; daughter Kathy T. Stoner; grandchildren Michael Anders & Jessica, Brittany Twiggs & Charles, Zachary Stoner, Jocelyn Stoner; great-grandchildren Hunter Anders, Kaden Twiggs, Michael Anders, Jr., Laykin Anders, Sadie Twiggs, Angel Morris; brother John Bunny Turner; and friend of the family Lee Anders. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Heights Baptist Church Believers Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 7 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating.
