James C. Bridges

James Harvey Bridges, age 81, of Callaway, VA went to join loved ones in the hereafter on Monday, August 12, 2013. He was born October 27, 1931 the son of the late Edison Gilmer Bridges and Fannie Sigmon Bridges. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley F. Bridges and his son, John Bridges. He is survived by his two sons, James C. Bridges , Joseph (Terry) Bridges all of Callaway; four daughters, Evonne Custer of Ferrum, Diane (Pete) Pugh of Boones Mill, Patricia Chernick of North Carolina, Cindy Bernard of Rocky Mount; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; special friends, Betty Blankenship, Elaine Smallwood and Teresa Thornhill. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Twin Oaks Baptist Church with Pastor Zack Furches and Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday morning at the church from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. before the service starts.
