James "Ed" Ferguson

James “Ed” Ferguson age 90 of Ferrum went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 20, 2024. He was born on January 24, 1934 a son of the late Toney Marshall and Norene Taylor Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Lora Ferguson as well as three brothers, Marshall Ferguson, Morrie Ferguson and Jay Ferguson; and one sister, Betty Midkiff.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Smith (Allen); His two daughters Susan Foley (Chester) and Judy Ferguson; his two step children Linda Maydian (Bill) and Butch Quinn (Janet); along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ed never met a stranger. He proudly served our country in the Military. He was a hardworking man who always took care of everyone. He drove a tractor trailer truck for many years. He was a top-notch handy man. He worked on cars, water lines, and whatever needed fixing. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and three dogs. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Lewis Sweet officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Franklin Memorial Park. His family will be receiving friends from noon till 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 Virginia Market Place Dr., Rocky Mount.
