James Edward Goodman

James Edward “Jim” Goodman, age 71 of Rocky Mount passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Jim was a retired real estate agent and appraiser in Franklin County for many years and also served on the Board of Directors of Step, Inc. He was born on September 19, 1944 a son of the late Thomas M., Sr. “Bud” and Bannie Eller Goodman. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas M. Goodman, Jr.; niece, Karen G. Tracey; and brother-in-law, John S. Bell. Jim is survived by his daughter Mary Beth Goodman; son David E. Goodman and wife, Kimberly; his grandson, Charles; sister Betty G. Bell; sister-in-law Thelma F. Goodman; nieces Judy Goodman-Rash and Jaimie Goodman; nephew John Marshall Bell (Marty). Graveside service will be conducted from Huffman Memorial Park, Cumberland Gap Road, New Castle 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016 with Pastor Don Brown Officiating. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Brown officiating.
