James Oliver Hall, 84, of Glade Hill passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Thursday, May 4, 2017. He was born September 1, 1932 the son of the late Taylor and Annie Hall. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Hall, his brothers, Henry Hall, J. W. Hall; sisters, Mattie Hodges, Adeline Weaver, Barbara Matherly. Left to cherish his wonderful memories are his daughter, Wanda Fralin and David; sons, Dean Hall and Selena, Keith “Moose” Hall and Carol; grandchildren, Josh Hall, Shaun Fralin and Katie; one great granddaughter, Kinsley Fralin who always brighten his day even at the end; step grandchildren, Jonathan Neely, Logan Neeley, Ryan Miller; sisters, Doris Hall, Louise Hodges; brother, Junior Hall; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Rev. David Long, Ray Vernon, Bud Thomas. Dad retired from Lane Company with 44 years of service. During his earlier years he coached his sons in baseball and softball then later on his grandson in baseball. Dad always loved sports and his favorite team was the “Oakland A’s”. Dad was a member of Glade Hill Baptist Church. His hobbies included woodworking for his family and friends, gardening and spending time with his family. Many thanks to Centra Lynchburg General Hospital and their Hospice Care during the last few months. Also, special thanks to his son, Moose, who was by his side constantly doing whatever needed. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Glade Hill Baptist Church or the Cancer Society. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Rev. David Long and Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
