Jaylin Dontrell Harris

Jaylin Dontrell Harris, 18 of Greensboro, NC passed away on August 30, 2019. He was born on May 13, 2001 to Alisha Holland and Keith Harris. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparent, Betty Holland; paternal grandparent, Harold Harris; and one aunt, Tondra Harris. Jaylin was a recent graduate Class of 2019 at Walter Hines Page High School. He was a smooth cat, much calm and laid back. With his crackling ankles and cereal eating self. You could always catch him chilling in his nana’s blue robe and his checkered pants. He was a true die-hard Washington Redskins fan #Hail to the Redskins and a true Duke Basketball fan which caused much excitement and rivalry between him and his mom with her being a Tarheels fan. Basketball season was always lit. Jman was always a loving big brother to his younger two siblings. He will forever be missed. The magnificent seven will never be the same. In addition to his parents, left to cherish many memories are seven siblings, Jamari D. Harris and Javion D.Harris of Greensboro, NC, Chelsea and Chanice Simmons of Rocky Mount, VA, Raheem and Rashad Harris of Penhook, VA, Cedrick Wright of Rocky Mount; two nieces, Amauriey “Squirrel” Faith Simmons and Za’miyah Cruz; one nephew, Zamir Cruz; paternal grandparent, Mariah Harris of Danville, VA; maternal grandparent, Leon Holland of Rocky Mount, VA. He was also surrounded by his close friends and a special friend, Dashaun Ballard of Greensboro, NC as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins, other relatives and friends. REST EASY BABY BOY Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Chapel 12:00 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Rodney Newbill officiating. Interment will follow at Byrd Lane Cemetery in Rocky Mount. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Conner Bowman Funeral Home, 62 VA Market Place Drive (Route 220 @ Wirtz Road) Rocky Mount, VA 24151
