Joe Bandy, Jr.

Joseph Mitchell Bandy, Jr. age 73 of Wirtz passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born on September 14, 1949, a son of the late Joseph M., Sr. and Dorothy Esther Davis Bandy. He was also preceded in death by his infant twin sons, Joseph III and Jonathan; infant great-grandson, E. J.; sister, Janet Shrewsberry; and his first wife who was the mother of his two oldest children, June Corvin; special brothers-in-law, Jack, Smokey, and Emil. He was also preceded in death by his very special four-legged fur baby, Cricket.

Joe was a U. S. Navy Veteran and was very proud to have served his country. By trade, he was a welder/machinist for Valley Machine for over 25 years. He was a man that always had something going on and could make a room full of people laugh by just the way he said something. He was a man with a heart of gold with a unique character to say the least. If you knew him, you have a story to tell for sure. Every day was a special day to him, and each day started the same way as he always read the obituaries every morning first thing whether he knew the person or not, he read their obituary. He felt a closeness to that loved one's family and he felt as if he knew the deceased and their family by reading their story. Joe loved nature and being outdoors especially if he was deer hunting or fishing. He will be missed by all, and he loved everyone.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Kathy Bandy; his children, Lori Van Curen (Mike), Jay Corvin (April), and Michelle Parks (Jerry); his grandchildren, Brandi, Zach, Sierra, J. J., Jonny, and Chris; great-grandchildren, Addi, Parker, and Preston; sisters and brother, Betty Gordon, Marcia Gibson, and Tommy Bandy (Cookie). He is also survived by numerous special nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
