Joey Walters

Joey Lee Walters, age 59 of Callaway, drifted off to be with the Lord on March 16, 2014 with his family faithfully by his side. He was preceded in death by father Stanley Edward Walters, and nephews Jason Jamison and Andrew Keenan. Left to cherish his memory is his loving mother, Lottie Webb Walters, and precious children Adam and Kristen Walters, Mark and Jennifer Walters, Danielle and David Boone, and Rivers Walters, UK. Joey loved and felt loved by his wonderful grandchildren, Tanner, Addison, Grace, Julia, Lyrik, and Jude. He spent his working years in Africa as a water-well drilling contractor and in the USA as a licensed building and electrical contractor. He enjoyed working and expressed disappointment on becoming disabled later in life. He will never be forgotten by beloved brother and sisters, Richard and Marietta Walters, Diane and Roger Jamison, Mary Kay and Marshall Jamison, Christy and John Keenan, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joey’s spirit was courageous and never complaining during his struggle with psoriatic arthritis. He awoke one morning rejoicing and singing, “He paid a debt He did not owe, I owed a debt I could not pay- I needed Jesus to wash my sins away.” Joey, brother, son, and father; your intelligent, quick wit and handsome smile will be in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be held at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, VA on March 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Private Interment will follow.
