John Lee Abshire

John Lee Abshire, Jr. age 88 of Boones Mill passed away unexpectantly at his home on Sunday, July 1, 2018. He retired from Swift and Company and attended Clearbrook Baptist Church. John was born on December 11, 1929 a son of the late John L., Sr. and Delia Flora Abshire and was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Abshire; sisters and brothers-in-law, Claudine Mizak (Andy) and Janet Guilliams (Jesse). He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Janet H. Abshire; son, Darryl Abshire (Renee´); daughter, Linda Cruff (Danny); his grandsons, Johnathan Hatcher, David Abshire and Daniel Abshire; great-grandson, Gabriel Hatcher; sister-in-law, Colleen Abshire; special niece and nephew, Yvonne Hodges (Donnie) and J.D. Abshire (Debbie); nieces and nephews, Mike Mizak (Vickie), Steve Mizak (Kathy), Ricky Mizak, Sissy Erickerson, Vickie Gurby (Dean), Carolyn Coble (Steve), Mark Guilliams (Priscilla) and Sherry Neal (David). He is also survived by his honorary brother, Harold Clemons; very special and close friends, Aaron and Lisa Ratliff and Jody Hammje. He is also survived by other family members, his church family and many friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Ratliff officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
