John Walter Hall

J. W. Hall, age 76 of Redwood, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013. He was born March 29, 1937 to the late Taylor and Sallie Hodges Hall. He was also preceded in death by his brother Henry Hall; sisters Adline Weaver & Mattie Hodges. J.W. was a veteran of the United States Army. After his time in service he was employed by Pillowtex where he later retired. He most recently worked at Advance Auto. He was a member of Glade Hill Baptist Church and was a member of Glade Hill Rescue Squad with 30 years of service to his community. Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years Alice Faye Hall; son Tim Hall and wife Jody Hall; granddaughters, whom were the love of his life: Casey Hall (Matt Mullins) and Carla Hall; Father-in-law Carl H. Hall, brothers and sisters Doris Hall, Louise Hodges (Gordon), James Hall (Louise), Junior Hall (Betty), and Barbara Matherly. Also surviving is his Advance Auto Family and his buddies at McDonalds. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Glade Hill Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be conducted at Lynch- Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013 with Rev. David Long officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. His family will be receiving friends on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Lynch- Conner-Bowman Funeral Home,140 Floyd Ave., Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. (540)483-5533
