John Frederick “Jack” Griffin, age 82 of Franklin County passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 in the Virginia Veterans Care Center.
He was born on January 2, 1935 a son of the late John Henry & Ada Bogmann Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his sister Pat and her husband, Jerry; and a brother, Skip Griffin.
Jack was a Veteran of the US Air Force and worked in the CIA for the United States Government.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor J. Griffin; son & daughter-in-law, Tom & Lisa Turner and their children, Ian, Cassandra, Elijah & Mara; daughter, Mary Turner (Jenny) and their children, Jacob, Aaron & John Thomas; brother, Bob Griffin (Pat); half-sister, Michelle; many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions in Jack’s name be made to Angels of Assisi 415 Campbell Avenue SW
Roanoke, VA 24016 due to his love of animals and his warm caring heart for taking in strays.
Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Chapel 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum, Mountain View Memorial Park with Military Honors.
His family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:30 until service time.
