John Wilton Pendleton (Biggon), age 90 of Callaway, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 in the VA Medical Center.
He was a life-long member of Saint Peters Episcopal Church and was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran having received three Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars.
Mr. Pendleton was born October 12, 1924, a son of the late Noah and Grace Sowder Pendleton. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Wilson Pendleton, brother Jake Pendleton; and his sisters, Mary Pendleton, Hilda Guilliams, Maude Bowling and Frances Hodges.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Hazel Sink Pendleton; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Pendleton, John and Shelia Pendleton; daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Arthur Gibson, Glenda Pendleton, Deborah and Ronnie Webb, Leigh and Ricky Riddle; his grandchildren, Davey and Becky Pendleton, Johnnie and Sandy Pendleton, Amy and Grant Guthrie, Jesse Gibson and Nicole Webb Rayle; great-great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Savannah Pendleton, Arora and Troy Riddle. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Ferguson; two brothers, Howard Pendleton and Frank Pendleton; his special friend, Kenny Rego.
Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Chapel, (town chapel) 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 with Rev. John Heck officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park with military honors.
