Joseph Theodore Payne

Joseph Theodore Payne, Sr., age 82, of Wirtz, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011. He was born May 10, 1929, a son of the late Luther and Grace Smallwood Payne. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda McGinniss; two brothers; and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ellen Payne; son, Joseph T. Payne, Jr.; daughters, Paula Wardlaw, Sharon Buppert, Cynthia Payne, Angela Amaya, Lori Payne, and Robin Wolfrey; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Kirk of Farmingdale, NJ; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel, 2 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011 with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Services in Maryland will be conducted by Borgwardt Funeral Home, 4400 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville, Maryland 20705.
