Julia “Judy” Bocckinfuso, age 90, of Hardy, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 3, 1921, one of nine children, she was predeceased by her husband, James Vincent Bocckinfuso; her parents, Alfred & Josephine Domino; and five of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James & Harriet Bocckinfuso of Hardy; daughter and son-in-law, Janet & James Janson of Onchiota, NY; her grandchildren, James Jr. & Laurie Bocckinfuso, and Tina & Ray Ramirez; great-grandchildren, Lea, Amanda, Jamie, Joseph, Erin, Jason and Dillon; sisters, Mary Blasi and Frances Sileo; brother & sister-in-law, Salvatore & Connie Domino; brother-in-law, Tom Barbieri; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Julia was an active member of the Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rocky Mount, VA, the Smith Mtn. Lake Newcomers, the Red Hat Society and the Widows’ Association. During her 90 years on earth, Judy touched the lives of all her family and friends with her caring ways, her zest for life, and her loving spirit and in heaven we pray she will dance and sing with the angels. The family will be receiving friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Saturday, December 17, at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, Rt. 220 at Wirtz Rd. Interment and memorial services will be conducted from St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Long Island, NY on Monday. The family has entrusted Conner-Bowman Funeral Home & Crematory with local arrangements.
