Kenneth Wayne Johnson

Kenneth Wayne “K.J.” Johnson, Sr., 79, of Glade Hill, VA passed away Monday, May 21, 2018. He was born October 20, 1938 the son of the late Claude Johnson and Gracie Thurman Johnson. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Melvin Johnson. “K.J.” was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. He worked several years at Guyer-Roberts Manufacturing and for many years at Rocky Mount Ready Mix before retiring. Surviving are daughter, Debra Williams (Barry); son, Kenny Johnson (Tina); sister, Shelby Brooks (Carlton); brother, Albert Johnson (Brenda); seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins; special loving friend, Mary Thurman and family; special friends at Elkhorn Lake Campground; also the mother of his children, Virginia Lewis. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. before the service. Special Thanks to Blue Ridge Cancer Care and Hospice of Halifax. The family respectfully request no food or flowers.
