Larry Wade Armes

Larry W. Armes age 80 of Hardy passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, June 22, 2024. He was born on February 23, 1944 a son of Pauline Hampton Armes and the late Wade R. Ames. He was also preceded in death by his loving and faithful wife, Sharon Thompson Armes. He was born in Tazewell County, VA and lived 40 Plus years in Arlington, VA. He worked at the Pentagon and Navy Annex retiring in 2015. His hobbies included Traveling with his wife who was the love of his life. He enjoyed catching up with family and friends. He loved listening to music and Washington National Baseball.

The family would like to say a very special thanks to all of those who have helped and cared for him over the past couple of years. Your kindness and love shown and given will never be forgotten.

In addition to his mother, he is survived two brothers, Jack Armes (Brenda) of Abingdon, VA, Jim Armes (Jane) of Cedar Bluff, VA; his sister, Nancy Alsbrook and Richie Alsbrook, Cedar Bluff, VA; sister-in-law, Elaine Tucker, Boston, MA; brother-in-law, Dan Thompson (Daisy), Georgia. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other family members.
