Lester G. Maxey

Lester G. Maxey, age 90 of Ferrum, went to be with His Lord on Saturday, December 17, 2016. He was born May 21, 1926 to the late Howard Lester and Nellie Johnson Maxey. He was also preceded in death by two brothers. Lester was a veteran of World War II and he was employed by DuPont and retired after 20 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Frances Maxey; son and daughter-in-law Robert J. Maxey (Mary Ann); granddaughter, Missi; 2 step-grandchildren; special great-grandson, Cody Bailey, whom he loved so much; a brother, Creed Maxey; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ferrum Faith Assembly of God Church, Thompson Ridge Road, Ferrum, Virginia 24088. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 20 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
