Lewis R. Gibson

Lewis Roland Gibson, age 79 of Boones Mill, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 3, 2013. He was born December 5, 1933 in Boones Mill to the late Tom Gibson and Josie Reddon Gibson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters and brothers Christine Gibson, Beulah Hopkins, Carl Gibson, Earl Gibson, Gerald Gibson, Marvin Gibson and Anna Young. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Louise Minnix Gibson; daughters Lynette Cooper (Jackie), Michelle Gibson, Tonya Semones (Tim), and Kim Sifers (Sam); sister Janet Custer (Jimmie) and brother Billy Gibson (Janette); eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Shirley Robertson (Carliss), Carol Tyree and Bonnie Minnix; many nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of the Korean War, had his own business for 40 years and loved bulldozers and all his “Big” toys “instead of golfing”.
