Lillian Elma R. Thompson

Lillian Elma R. Thompson passed away peacefully at the home of her son in Ferrum on Sunday, January 15, 2017. She was born January 16, 1917, the last surviving heir of Elkanah and Margaret Radford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Dalton Thompson and three children, Cecil, Joyce and Silas Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Albertha Crowe, Lala Boyd, Lula Underwood, Eura Crowe, Myrtha Adkins and Lera Handy along with two brothers, Moyer Radford and Lewis Radford. Surviving is her daughter, Edith (Larry) Sharpe and son, Douglas (Theresa) Thompson. She was lovingly known as “Granny T” to Dwayne Thompson, Stephanie Thompson, Lori Thompson and Jeffrey Sharpe along with 8 great grandchildren, Jenna Thompson, Dalton Thompson, Lacie Thompson, Morgan Crum, Tatum Boyd, Dawson Thompson, Ali Sharpe and Andrew Sharpe. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Rev. J. C. Holden officiating. Interment will follow in the Radford Family Cemetery, Floyd, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 P.M. before the service starts.
