Linda Pauley Harman

Linda Pauley Harman, 63, of Roanoke went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 7, 2011 after battling cancer for the last year. She was preceded in death by her father, William Bud Pauley and two brothers Kenneth Pauley and Robert Pauley, all of Floyd. Linda is survived by her husband of 42 years, Michael Harman, a son and pride of her life, Matt Harman of Roanoke as well as her mother, Mabel DeHart and her husband Turner DeHart of Floyd. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Underwood and brother-in-law Ronnie Underwood of Copper Hill, a brother, Roger Pauley, and sister-in-law, Becky Pauley, of Floyd, Bill Pauley and sister-in-law Barbara Pauley of Jacksonville, Florida as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. Linda was a native of Floyd and shortly after being married moved to Rocky Mount, Virginia where she was a member of Rocky Mount Christian Church. The family later moved to Roanoke where she was a member of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church. A former Vinton Dogwood Festival Queen, Linda was a beautiful lady and served as a judge in many pageants in the area. She was a partner in the family business, Doors and More, located in Franklin County. She loved her family and friends never forgetting or missing the opportunity to do something unique on a birthday or holiday. During her illness, the entire family was blessed by so many friends that kept them in their prayers and gave comfort through their calls, cards and visits. In particular, they want to thank Pam Ammar, Mary Bernitt, Dr. John and Karen Feldenzer, Marilyn Harriman, Linda Meador, and Anna Tackett for their concern, friendship and loving assistance. In addition, the family would like to acknowledge Dr. Stephen Rosenoff, Andrew Whetzel and Carilion Hospice for their dedicated and skillful care. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel in Franklin County 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 with Pastor Greg Fleshman, Mount Union Church of the Brethren officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. from Jacksonville Cemetery, Floyd, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made in Lindas name to The American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, Virginia 24018.
