Linda M. Robertson

Linda Matthews Robertson, age 58 of Ferrum passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012 after a battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother Ila C. Matthews. Through the years Linda made many friends at Bassett Walker, Ferrum College and Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital where she worked. She loved reading and sewing and was an excellent cook. Survivors are her lifelong partner Roger Houchins of the home; her son and daughter-in-law Kenny and Cindy Robertson of Patrick Springs; sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Lonnie Rigney of Ferrum; half sister Lora Matthews of Gate City; father Wilber Matthews and wife Linda of Gate City; many nephews; sister-in-law Sandra Anglin and husband Eugene; mother-in-law Juanita Houchins. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Willian Fintel and the staff at the Blue Ridge Cancer Center, Ken and Martha Robertson and the many folks for their thought, prayers and cards. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ferrrum Fire Department, P0 Box 69, Ferrum, VA 24088. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Friday with Pastor Brad Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Her family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Lonnie and Kathy Rigney, 5893 Franklin St., Ferrum.
