Lonnie Jones

Lonnie Wayne Jones, age 53 of Rocky Mount, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 13, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father J.C. Jones; grandparents Russell and Mary Jenkins; grandfather Owen Jones; cousin J.J. Jones; uncle James Jenkins, Jr. Lonnie loved to hunt and fish. He was a good son and kindhearted man, whose doors were always open to anyone. Surviving are his mother and stepfather Clara and Lawrence Hale; step-sister Christine Cooper; grandmother Mildred Jones; special friend and life partner Evonne Custer and daughters Amber and Tara Scott; Uncles & Aunts Roger Jones, Tommy and Nettie Jones, George and Sandy Jenkins, Betty and Raeburn French, Peggy and Dennis Potter, Sharon and Stevie Davis; sister Rosa Jones Perkins; many special cousins, family and friends too numerous to mention. Funeral services will be conducted from New Life Tabernacle Baptist Church 2pm Sunday with Dr. Jackie Spence officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery.
