Lonnie Mitchell Quinn, 67, of Ferrum, VA, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2015, with his family by his side. He was born March 29, 1947, and faithfully served in the United States Army with two tours in Vietnam. He loved his Lord and Savior, and enjoyed worshiping with his church family at Twin Oaks Baptist Church, reading his Bible, spending time with his family and watching the hummingbirds from his front window. Lonnie was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing his bounty with friends and family. He also loved spending time with his cat, Midnight.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Mitchell Quinn, and grandparents, Virgil and Ollie Shively, and Posey and Elsie Quinn, all of Ferrum. Surviving are his loving mother, Gladys Quinn; sister, Doris Brown (Al); two daughters, Stephanie Burton (Shannon), and Miranda Quinn (Marcus); two granddaughters, Sydney Marie Burton and Madisyn Leigh Brown; nieces, Jennifer Owen (Martin) and Alisha Carroll (Tim); and great nephews, Michael Quinn Reed and Jack Alfred Carroll.
We will miss you every day for the rest of our lives.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Monday, March 2, at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Covey and Elder Junior Conner officiating. Interment will follow in the Quinn Family Cemetery, in Ferrum, VA. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon, from 2 to 3 P.M. before the service starts.
