Louise Johnson

Louise Johnson (Granny Lou) age 81 of Ferrum, entered into heaven to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 12, 2017. She was born on August 20, 1935 a daughter of the late James Roy and Annie Virginia Spencer Miles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Lafayette; brother, James Leroy Miles; and brother-in-law, Grover Pate, Jr. Louise was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. Her grandchildren called her “Granny Lou”. She retired at the age of 63 as a Supervisor with Virginia Apparel where she started at the age of 16. She loved her flowers, gardening and was an excellent cook. She will be missed and was loved by all. Louise is survived by her daughters, Linda Dillon (Michael), Callaway and Lois Johnson, Ferrum; grandchildren, Johnathan Dillon (Lisa), Haley Doss, Chelsea Dillon and Shanner Dillon; her great-grandchildren, Will Dillon, Amelia Dillon, Timothy Dillon and Layla Doss; sisters, Mary Ann Pate, Roanoke and Elizabeth Miller, Rocky Mount. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews; other family members and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017 with Pastor Jeff Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Her family will be receiving friends on Tuesday prior to the service beginning at 12 noon until service time.
