Lucille Hunt Willis

Virginia Lucille Hunt Willis age 89 of Rocky Mount passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at her residence. She was born on January 16, 1932 a daughter of the late William Benjamin and Donie Brown Hunt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Wilford Willis; sisters, Ruby B. Hunt, Irene Hunt Tudor, Ethel Hunt Love, Margaret Hunt Love and Dorothy Hunt Webb; brothers, James Davis Hunt, Morris William Hunt and Walter Akers Hunt. Lucille retired from E. I. DuPont with 33 years of service and was a longtime member of Beulah Baptist Church. She is survived by her sister, Paige Hunt Robertson; sisters-in-law, Avis Cline Hunt, Cova Nichols Hunt; brother-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Willis. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a very special thank you to Amedisys Hospice and her health care providers, Sarah Yopp and Mary Sigmon. It is requested that food be omitted and memorial contributions be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 4220 Sontag Rd, Rocky Mount, VA 24151 or Amedisys Hospice, 5221 Valley Park Drive, Suite 2, Roanoke, VA 24019. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Winn officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
