Margaret Campbell Bussey

Margaret Campbell Bussey, 82, of Rocky Mount, our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2015 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her son Steve Marshall Bussey; daughter Mary Margaret Bussey; parents Noah and Nannie Campbell; parents-in-law Forrest and Myrtle Bussey; and brothers Sam, Bill, David, and Walter Campbell. Margaret worked and lived on the family farm, raising her children and caring for her husband. She provided care for her grandchildren over the past seventeen years. She enjoyed cooking, camping, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 62 years, Forrest Bussey; son and daughter-in-law Terry and Virginia Bussey; daughter and son-in-law Melinda and Randall Bush; daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Timothy Angell; beloved grandchildren Jakob and Kaitlyn Bush, Owen and Abby Angell, Steven Bussey and Rhys Lewis; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Barry Beamer; sister Betty Whitworth; sister and brother-in-law Goldie and DeLloyd Alderman; and sister-in-law Alice Campbell. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the many friends, family and caregivers Brenda Jones, Betty Hubbard, Kathy Kinsey, Virginia Bussey, Nikki Crawford and Virginia Ham who provided love and endless support during Margaret’s illness. A service celebrating Margaret’s life will be held at Gogginsville United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 5 with the Rev. Katherine Budzik officiating. Internment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, September 4 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Gogginsville United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3959 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA 24018.
