Marie Fulcher

Marie Salyer Fulcher, age 89, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012. She was born September 7, 1923. Marie was a longtime member of Furnace Creek Baptist Church. Marie was a very special caring and loving person, know to her grandchildren as "Ree", a name given her by her great-granddaughter, Morgan. She loved her family, neighbors and church family and was always concerned with their welfare. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Fulcher; sister, Pamela Wolfe and brother, Bud Salyer. She is survived by two sons, Gary Fulcher and wife, Dwan of Glade Hill; Alan Fulcher and wife, Candace of Rocky Mount; four grandchildren, Tim, Josh and Ward Underwood, Ashley Williams and fiance Keith Diggs; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Morgan, Reagan, Aylin and Marleigh Underwood, Cameron and Colin; special friends, Denise Hall and Beach Chewning. Marie's family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Franklin Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care during Marie's time there. We would also like to thank Mom's neighbors, friends and church family for prayers, cards, and visits during her recent illness. The family ask in lieu of flowers and their Mom's concern for others, that donations be made to Stepping Stones Mission of Franklin County, P. O. Box 141, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Lawhorn officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
