Together, they continued their adventures in places like Alaska, Haiti, and Europe. After marrying they eventually settled in Virginia and eagerly awaited the birth of their first child. Mark worked as a dedicated nurse at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Salem. Mark’s sense of humor was just as vibrant as his spirit; he loved to joke, play pranks, and always had a smile on his face. He was truly a one-of-a-kind person, a great individual whose presence enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. Those fortunate enough to have him in their lives were truly blessed.
In honoring Mark’s wishes, the family held a small private service and in time will spread his ashes in places dear to his heart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Foundation in memory of his father, Jon, supporting a cause close to the family's heart. A meal train has also been set up to support his family during this time.
