Marvin Everett Holland

HOLLAND, MARVIN EVERETT, age 85, of Rocky Mount, VA, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born August 6, 1932, in Penhook, Franklin County VA, he was a son of the late Henry Albert and Lucy David Holland. He was a retired employee of Cooper Wood Products, Inc., with 35 years of service. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 60 years, Clara Marie Morgan Holland. They were married on April 23, 1957. Also surviving are two brothers, H. Landon Holland and Emmett Holland, a sister-in-law, Betty G. Morgan, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and special friends. Marvin was a fan of NASCAR, college basketball, and other sports. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. The family would like to thank the staff of Runk and Pratt for the loving care given to Marvin while he was a resident at the Smith Mountain Lake Retirement facility. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at Conner Bowman Funeral Home (Rt. 220 Chapel) with Dr. John Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will be receiving friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Conner Bowman Funeral Home, Rt. 220, 62 Virginia Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount, VA. (540)334-5151
