Mary Frances Chitwood McGhee

Mary Frances Chitwood McGhee, age 77 of Rocky Mount passed away Monday, May 26, 2014. She was born June 13, 1936 to the late Jim Edd Chitwood and Letha Mullens Chitwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Monroe Garland McGhee; brothers Jesse Chitwood and James Bud Chitwood; sisters Christine Chitwood Hall and Lorraine Chitwood Nolen. Surviving is sisters Nellie Chitwood Adkins and Ruby Chitwood Brown; special niece Martha Fralin; special friend and caregiver Patty Toler; numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 4335 Cox Road Glen Allen, Virginia 23060. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel (Rt. 220) 3:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
